I have always been creative and was taught to knit at the age of four.
I established Woolly Wonders 10 years ago and we are now a thriving small business based on the south coast of England near Chichester.
We specialise in keeping everything local and as traditional as possible taking into consideration the properties of the yarn which varies from one breed of sheep to another. Primarily I use wool from the flocks of Jacob and romney sheep who graze in the fields a mile down the road in Cobnor. I also use the fleece from two alpacas, Snowy and Toffee who live at nearby West Ashling where they are kept as pets who also guard the owners’ hens from foxes.
Yarn is produced from the fleece using traditional methods and then made into top quality items of clothing and other Woolly Wonders all designed by me and hand-knitted by a group of experienced local knitters. Most of my knitters have been with me from the start.
